Donation FAQs
Will I get a tax benefit?
Yes, if you file your return under the old tax regime. Vipra Foundation's 80G approval covers donations made from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031. From tax year 2026–27 this deduction falls under section 133 of the Income-tax Act, 2025. Most donors can deduct 50% of the donation, up to 10% of adjusted gross total income. Please check with your tax adviser.
How do I get my tax certificate?
After the financial year ends, we file a statement of donations with the Income Tax Department by 31 May. Your donation certificate (Form 114, earlier Form 10BE) is issued after that filing. Your deduction depends on this certificate, so give us your correct PAN and name when you donate.
Can I donate in cash?
Please don't give more than ₹2,000 in cash. Cash donations above ₹2,000 are not eligible for a tax deduction.
Can I donate from outside India?
Indian citizens living abroad can donate. At present we cannot accept donations from foreign citizens, including OCI cardholders, or from foreign organisations.
Can my company support you through CSR?
Yes. Vipra Foundation is registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to undertake CSR activities (CSR00006626). Write to viprafoundation@gmail.com to discuss a project.
Can I give for a particular programme?
Yes. Mention the programme when you send your donation details, and we will use your gift for it.
How is my donation used and checked?
Donations are used only for the Foundation's charitable work. Our accounts are audited every year by an independent chartered accountant and presented to members at the Annual General Meeting. See our annual reports.
Does anyone collect donations on behalf of the Foundation?
No. Office bearers and volunteers are not authorised to collect money into personal bank accounts, UPI IDs or wallets. If anyone asks you to do this, please report it to us.
Can I get a refund?
Donations are voluntary and are not normally refunded. If you paid twice or entered a wrong amount, write to us within 7 days with the transaction details.
Whom do I contact?
viprafoundation@gmail.com or +91 84429 25500.
